For vitamin B12 deficiency active ingredients 1 mg hydroxocobalamin acetate excipients water for injections Acetic acid for pH adjustment sodium chloride sodium acetate 1000 µg depot vitamin B12Composition:1 ampoule of 2 ml contains: hydroxocobalamin acetate 1000 µg (1mg) (depot vitamin B12)Other ingredients: sodium acetate/acetic acid (acetate buffer), sodium chloride, water for injections.Areas of application:Vitamin B12 deficiency that cannot be remedied with nutrition. Vitamin B12 deficiency can manifest itself in the following clinical pictures: Hyperchromic macrocytic megaloblastic anemia (pernicious anemia, Biermer's anemia, Addison's anemia; these are disorders of maturation of the blood cells). Funicular spinal disease (spinal cord damage). A vitamin B12 deficiency confirmed by laboratory diagnostics can occur: if you have been malnourished or malnourished for years (e.g. through a strict vegetarian diet), due to congenital vitamin B12 transport disorders in case of malabsorption (insufficient absorption of vitamin B12 in the intestine) due to insufficient production of the intrinsic factor (a protein that is formed in the gastric mucosa and is required for the absorption of vitamin B12), due to diseases in the end section of the ileum, e.g. sprue, by fish tapeworm, due to blind loop syndrome (change in the course of the intestine after gastric surgery). Dosage:Unless otherwise prescribed, 1 ml "Vitamin B12 Depot Hevert" (equivalent to 500 µg hydroxocobalamin acetate) is administered twice a week at the beginning of treatment in the first few weeks after diagnosis.
